September - 7 months

September was a huge month developmentally for Cooper. It is amazing how much he changed this month!

Here he is holding his bottle by himself. He is getting to be so independent....

This is how I found him one morning while I was getting ready for church. I left him in his crib for maybe 1 minute and came back to this.

I grabbed the camera to capture him trying to pull up and then all of a sudden he did this! I couldn't believe it!

His absolute favorite thing to play with is daddy's laptop. (Electrical outlets and cords coming in at a close second.) Clay lets him stand and touch the edge and he thinks he is big time. Cooper that is....

He was giggling uncontrollably when I took this. So sweet...

He doesn't like to lay down and get his clothes/diaper changed. He immediately rolls from his back to his belly.

We opened the drawer to see what he would do....

And he rolled right off into the drawer!

Buying Cooper a walker may just have been the best investment I have made. He goes all of the house in it. He loves being mobile! The downside is that he thinks he can walk when he isn't in his walker. He is still wobbly and not ready to do that on his own. He has no fear though - and that is scary.

I think this shirt makes me look so grown up!

He is such a happy boy. I love how he is really laughing.

Not only is he pulling up (on EVERYTHING) and walking with help but he started crawling this month too!

He started out pretty slow. He would move a little and belly flop and then start again. It only took a couple of days before he had mastered it. Now I can't take my eyes off of him - he is fast!

Here he is feeding himself puffs. The disadvantage to him picking up food and feeding himself is he tries to pick up anything on the floor and do the same. Another reason why I can't take my eyes off of him.

Working on the pincer grasp.

I can't believe that he doesn't have a tooth yet. For months I have thought he would have one any day now. I can't even feel any bumps on his gums. He has been drooling heavily and chewing on everything he can get his hands on for months. He loves eating ice in the mesh feeder.

Such a happy boy. I am very thankful for that.

Big blue eyes!

Standing in his crib. Sometimes we find him like this in the middle of the night. He starts crying because he can't get down.

Bath time is still his favorite part of the day. It doesn't matter how fussy/tired he is he always is happy during his bath.

You can see there is a very minimal amount of water in there because he splashes it all out. We have to lay towels out on the counter and the floor before he starts because he makes such a mess. But he is so happy doing it so we let him. It's worth cleaning up the mess to see him having fun!

Daddy is spinning him around on the toy making him dizzy. He looks like he is holding on for dear life!

Eight Months Old -

The child fights to keep shoes on. I didn't feel like battling with shoes for this picture.

I can't believe how much he has changed this month. I added crawling, pulling up, walking with help, and feeding himself all to his book this month. He is getting so big so fast. I am so greatful I have taken a year off of school so I haven't missed these milestones. Spending time with him has been such a blessing and it's time I know I will never get back. God is good!

August

Well what do you know, I am 2 months behind on posting. Better late than never right? (Thanks for the nudge Dena :) Here's August:

Sitting up like a big boy. Look at those big blue eyes!
Cooper and Momma

Chewing on EVERYTHING...

He is now sitting up in the grocery cart and he loves it! He likes to be able to look around at everyone/everything. He is nosy like that....

Getting him ready for football season!

I had to make some good use out of all the diaper boxes....

Here he is chewing on my toes. Yes, they are clean. I told you he was chewing on everything....

Doing his best to hold the bottle on his own.

Cool dude playing at the park with the youth group kids....

We took Cooper on his first trip and went to visit Cale, Annika, and AJ in Killeen, Texas. Cooper attended his first birthday party. AJ is 2! He is enjoying his cake, even though he had a taste before he was suppose to....

Cousins - oh the trouble they will cause...

AJ was being a good helper and making sure Cooper had his pacifier. Cooper, well he was happy with his fingers...

Cooper had his 6 month check up (and shots) this month. He weighed in at just over 19 lbs. He is a healthy boy....

This was a pre-shot picture if you couldn't tell....

He is learning to drink from a sippy but he mainly likes to chew on it....

I LOVE his smile. He squints his eyes and squishes his nose....

He loves to play on the floor with his toys....

I think he looks so grown up in this picture!

We took him to the big Hinton Fair and he actually rode a few rides. He loved the lights and all of the action going on. Here is momma and Cooper riding the carousel....

Daddy rode the train with him. (Notice Gavan and Jaylen are in front of them and Uncle Stan and Deegan are behind them.)

Uncle Stan and Cooper...

Nana had to work in the fair office but she took some time off to play with Cooper...

7 months old!

Silly boy!

Swinging at the park. He is an outdoors boy. But then again what boy isn't?

Lexi Update.......

For those of you who haven't seen my facebook updates I thought I should update about Lexi. Her surgery went well. She was released from ICU yesterday and is now in a normal room. Doctors were going to let her go home today but then she started running a fever. They are keeping her overnight for more observation. Hopefully she can go home tomorrow. She is up and walking around and so glad to be out of the bed. She couldn't get comfortable laying down and is glad to be mobile. These pics are from Saturday and I have seen more recent ones of her and she looks even better. She is such a strong girl!

We took Adi and Lyvi to Build a Bear on Friday and the kids made a bear just for Lexi. They named it Hearty. (With some help from Clay)
This was our first time seeing Lexi. The only appetite she had was for popsicles.
Lexi, Pam (Lexi's mom), and Adison and Alyvia (her 2 sisters)

You can see she is hooked up to several tubes. It hurt her pretty bad when they took them out but it was much better for her once they were gone.

Here is Adi reading the many cards that she made for Lexi. She read "you are the best sister I could ask for" and then started crying. We all started tearing up. It was so sweet!

Thank you all for your prayers over the past few days. Please continue to pray for her recovery. I am so humbled as a mother to watch Pam take care of her child through this situation. I don't know what I would do if I had to watch my baby boy go through what Lexi did. I am so proud of Pam and Lexi and their amazing strength. It is amazing to watch how God has given them the ability to get through this difficult time in their life. God is good!
