6 lbs 11 oz??

Can you believe that?  We had our ultrasound this morning and it calculated Cooper weighing in at a whopping 6 lbs 11 oz!!  Now I know that the ultrasound can be off as much as a pound either way but still 6 lbs 11 oz???  Clay and I can't get over how big that is.  We have a friend who had a baby today that was 6 lbs 13 oz.  And I have a month to go!  Okay enough about the shock factor.  My due date is February 1st, which is a month from Thursday.  The ultrasound measured me at 37 weeks (instead of 35) with a due date of January 20th.  Everything checked out fine and he is developing properly.  He was so smushed that we didn't get great pictures.  It was fun to watch him on the screen.  He would open and close his mouth and he kept putting his hand up to his mouth.  He has chubby cheeks!!  I couldn't believe how chubby they are already.  He is in position and ready to go.  I knew that already because he continues to have hiccups 2-3 times a day and I have been having quite a bit of pelvic pressure.  It was neat to see where he was positioned in my belly so I could have a better understanding of what body parts I was feeling move where.  Speaking of body parts, he is definitely a boy.  I mentioned to the ultrasound technician that I was going to see "her" later, meaning Dr. Wilks.  She thought I meant the baby and she got worried when she saw the boy parts that we thought it was a girl.  Funny......  The tech said that he could gain 1/2 to 1 pound a week for the rest of the term.  She also told us not to worry about buying preemie clothes, we wouldn't need them.  We then saw Dr. Wilks at 1:45.  I am glad the appointments were right after one another because I was so anxious after I found about how big he was I wanted to know what the doctor thought about it.  After first looking at the ultrasound Dr. Wilks said she didn't want to change my due date but that he was going to be a big baby.  She said she would guess he would be a good eight pounds and that did not alarm her.  She then checked me and I am not dilated but I am 50-75% effaced.  She then asked me to remind her what our feelings were about being induced.  I don't want to be induced.  I have heard nothing but horror stories about it.  I really want him to come naturally.  I told her that but I also told her that she is the medical professional and I am putting myself in her care and if that is what she thinks we need to do that I will do that.  She said she would like to set an induction date for the week before (39 weeks) and she does not want me to go past my due date.  She also scheduled me for an appointment next Monday because she wants to check me again then.  I was originally suppose to skip next week and see her at 37 weeks but since I am thinning she wants to keep an eye on me.  I feel like I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  I have to admit I was freaking out when I first found out how big he was and thinking about a due date of January 20th.  I have so much I need to get done before he comes....

Clay and I start labor and delivery classes Monday night.  If you will remember, we were scheduled for December 5th but Clay happened to be sick and throwing up.  :)  He really was sick but I like to give him heck about the timing.  We are suppose to go every Monday night in January but now it looks like we might not make it through the entire class.  I am more concerned about going to the baby care class on Wednesday January 14th.  He can't come before then or I won't know what to do with him!!

We spent some time around a 5 weeks old baby tonight and I just kept staring at him.  I am getting so excited!  I can't believe our little boy will be here in less than a month!

Christmas 2008

Clay and I had a great holiday season.  We were spoiled as usual.  Here is a brief look at what our Christmastime went like.......
Clay and I agreed not to spend much on each other this year.  Here are the few gifts we got for each other.

Clay wanted each of these books.
He wanted this autographable OU football to use for Cooper's hand or feet prints at the hospital.
My new bible!!  My old one has fallen out of the cover and some of the pages are torn.  And this one has my last name on it, 3 1/2 years later!
My black coffee pot.....
The next section of pictures is in Hinton at my Grandma Jane's house.  I bought this sign for her a few years ago.  Our family tradition is to meet on Christmas Eve at 10:00 for brunch, we open gifts, play Rook, eat fresh shrimp from the Gulf that afternoon, and go to the Christmas Eve service at the Methodist church my grandma attends that evening.
We picked this up from Edible Creations in Edmond that morning.  My uncle ordered it from Tennesse and we delivered it.  It was huge!!
Clay and I, 34 weeks pregnant...
Todd and Marlee are so cute.....
My cousin Trey who is in his 2nd year of medical school in Tulsa.  Our family is so proud....
Grandma got us a box of Omaha steaks and this indoor grill and griddle.  We are so excited!  She buys the best gifts.....
My cousin Tricia, her son Deegan, and husband Lance....
Deegan LOVES Thomas the Trian!  Here he is on his Thomas Aquadoodle...
The sign I made, thanks to Melody's help.  Tricia loved it!
My uncle Stan was celebrating the fact that he had been married 10 years.  This is his third marriage and the longest lasting.  Funny....
The next few pictures are with Clay's family.  I think I got tired of taking pictures, there aren't quite as many here.
Connie with her "grandchildren" frame....
Adison and her Bratz doll....
Lyvi and her camo Santa hat....
It wasn't enough that Gail spoiled us with Shoguns.  Here is her gift to Cooper.
Our first bottles.....
The bag is full of stuff that we need!   There were five pairs of shoes in there....
We can't believe this is our last Christmas just Clay and I.  We have an ultrasound schedule from tomorrow at 11:00 and we meet with Dr. Wilks at 1:45.  We haven't seen Cooper since 19 weeks and we can't wait to see how much he has changed!  I will try to update with the ultrasound pictures tomorrow.

My FAVORITE restaurant....

Clay's aunt Gail (you might recognize her from Dateline a couple of months ago) is in town for the holidays.  She wanted to go to "a Japanese steakhouse where they cook the food in front of you."  Clay and I LOVE Shoguns.  We use to go there more frequently before we got married.  Now that we are grown up we don't like to spend the money, since it is expensive, except for a special occasion.  Gail took us, Clay's parents, Clay's brother and his girlfriend last night and it was a rare treat!!  (Which just reminded me, I am starving and I have leftovers in the fridge.  YEAH!)
Gail and Connie (Clay's mom)
Me and my sister-in-law Jessica - She is technically Clay's brothers girlfriend but they have been dating forever and he better marry her.  She is my sister-in-law, Annika will agree.

Clay, me, and Cooper
The famous flaming volcano made out of an onion....
Connie trying to catch the rice.  It hit her in the head.  I timed this picture perfectly!!
Our mexican chef L.B. at the Japanese steakhouse.  He was hilarious!  It was his birthday....
Cole couldn't use the chopsticks so he decided to make a teepee out of them instead....
He said he learned this trick by watching "Survivorman"

Ok this story is so funny and embarassing that I had to share it.  Yesterday Clay joked around about how he was going to put some dirty water in a chair before I sit down to make me think that my water broke.  Disgusting I know....  So we started talking about my water breaking and how embarrassed i am going to be if it happens in public.  Well last night I was sitting and watching L.B. and I had my hands in my lap.  All of a sudden I starting feeling warm liquid on my hands and completely freaked out!!  Don't worry, it wasn't my water breaking.  I had spilt sauce at the top of my plate and I cleaned it up but I guess some leaked underneath and that is what was running on my hands.  Of course everyone got a kick out of it!

Well I am finished Christmas shopping as of this morning.  I need to get to baking now.  We start Christmas after church tonight with Clay's immediate family, leave early tomorrow to spend Christmas Eve at my grandma Janes, stay the night with my mom, have Christmas Thursday morning with my mom, brother, and Marlee, spend an hour or so with my Grandpa, then head back to MWC for Christmas lunch with Clay's family.  Let the holidays begin.  Merry Christmas to all!

The first of many....

I did Cooper's first load of laundry last week.  I don't know why I was so nervous about washing his clothes.  It is all so little and I felt like I was going to mess it up for some reason.  If only I could wash that many outfits of mine in one load....

Santa needed some help....

Sunday night we had a Christmas party at church.  We ate finger foods, played some silly games, and of course we ended the night with Dirty Santa!  Apparently Santa is a little short handed this year so we had to find him some more reindeer to fly the sleigh.
Here is Todd...
Richard...
Clay, he must come from Rudolph's family...
The reindeer getting in position...

The game was so much fun and hilarious to watch.  The guys started with panty hose on their heads and the feet were cut out.  The object was for the other team members to blow up balloons and make their reindeers "rack" stand up.  The first reindeer to get their rack to stand up wins.   Sharla is so creative with her games.  You can tell she is an elementary teacher!  I made Clay take a picture with me and of course he always has to screw one up before he will be serious.  I actually like the first picture because you can't see my huge belly!

Better late than never.....

Eastside had a shower for us a week and a half ago.  It has taken me so long to post pictures because I have been putting baby items away!  We had a tremendous shower.  I have written thirty thank you cards and I still have ninety some to go.  Not complaining, just a way of showing you how blessed we are.  Here are some pictures of the shower.
Kristin, me, Kathy, and Sharla- they made the "Cooper" letters in the background.  There is a close up picture of them later...
Leigh and Ashley made it to the shower.  It was great to see them both!
My brother's girlfriend Marlee.  She was my photographer.  She is precious...
Clay's mom Connie, cousin Pam, her three girls Lexi, Adison, and Alyvia...
Grandma Jane and Mom...
My wonderful hostesses...
The gift table...
Adi and Lyvi...
Playing a gender game using old wives tales....
The cake that Carrol made...
Close up picture of the letters.  They are so cute!
And the gifts begin.  OU hooded towel...

Cute fireman outfit from Todd and Marlee...
The crowd watching me open gifts...

A very comfortable robe to throw on in the middle of the night...
100% boy!  One of the mix and match outfits that my mom bought...
Kristin folded all the tissue paper so I could re use it.  Sure comes in handy at Christmas time...
A monogrammed blanket from Jon and Priscilla...
Rainforest gym, excuse the drugged look on my face...
A monitor as part of the hostess gift...
Frog Pod for the bathtub...
He WILL love his mommy...
A highchair that matches our car seat, stroller, and pack n play from the hostesses...
I was so amazed at the turn out and all of the gifts.  I don't think he is going to be able to wear the same outfit twice!  We will find out in about 7 weeks.  I can't believe I am due 7 weeks from today.  Well I am off to wrap some presents and work on thank you cards.  Only 12 days til Santa comes!
