Lost and Found

Well I found my charger for my camera, or Clay did.  That was the reason for my lack of blogging.  My camera was dead and I couldn't get the pictures off of it.  And I just couldn't come up with a post without pictures.  Since  I have not blogged since March, here is a recap of April.

We started out the month with Cooper getting his 2 months shots.  Man thats hard on baby and momma!  I am a sucker when he puckers his bottom lip.  Needless to say he survived.  And I learned to give him Tylenol before next time and bring his shot record.  Don't judge.  How was I suppose to know?  I'm a first time mom!
As of April 2 he weighed in at 13 lbs 3 ounces and measured 24 1/2 inches long.  I am sure he is 14 lbs now possibly pushing 15.
He slept all night for the first time that night.  Here is a little smile.  I needed proof he could smile after all those tears!
Speaking of sleeping, the only way he will sleep is if he is swaddled.  He is SO active he wakes himself up moving around if he's not wrapped up.  Someone told me "he doesn't need to be swaddled he needs to get use to himself."  That person doesn't have to live with him either.  We can't both be sleep deprived!  He is coming up on 3 months and I am wondering how long he will have to be swaddled.  I don't think they make blankets large enough for a 12 year old!  What are your experiences with swaddling?

He slept for 15 mins not swaddled and I took a picture!  I couldn't believe it.  He started sleeping in his crib last weekend.  It was harder on me than it was on him!  He is going to sleep around 9:30-10:30 waking up at 4 to eat and then sleeps until 7:30 or 8.  The past few nights he has waken up a few other times and we have to go put the paci back in his mouth.  We try hard to not pick him up.  I don't want to start that!
He is always a happy baby when he wakes up.
He loves laying in his bed and watching the turtles on his mobile.  He will just smile and laugh at them.
Cale, Annika, and AJ spent a week in MWC so we had a lot of family time.  We sure wish they were around more often. (hint hint)  Here is Cooper with Aunt Jessica and Uncle Cole.  Their wedding is in 2 months.  We can't wait!
Clay and AJ.  He is getting so big! AJ that is.....
Annika was taking advantage of holding Cooper before he got passed on.  Doesn't she look good holding a baby?
AJ giving cousin Cooper kisses.  They will love this pic when they are in high school.
Best cousins!
Sneaking a ride in the carrier.
Great-Grandma Ford came to see the great grandkids.  She is the sweetest woman ever!!
Doesn't he look innocent?
This is the only way AJ would let his daddy hold Cooper.  H was very jealous of his dad with another baby.
The Saturday before Easter my family got together at my Grandma Jane's.  Clay didn't get to come with us because he was at LTC.  I hated missing LTC, especially because Clay spoke at the devotional Friday night, but 8 hours of driving in a 24 hour time period with a 2 month old didn't sound exciting to me.  After all Cooper wanted to finally meet my cousin Trey!  He is med school right now so he doesn't have extra time for trips home that often.  We are so proud of him!
The boys hunted Easter eggs and chased the geese around the lake.

Uh-oh Deegan dropped his sippy cup.  Dad to the rescue....

I think this picture is so sweet!
After many attempts we finally got a good picture of Cooper and Deegan, with a little help from Tricia.
Tricia and Cooper!  She also looks good holding a baby.....
Here are pictures of Easter Sunday.  I love this outfit.
Daddy and Cooper match!
I tried to find baby blue for me but with no such luck.  Maybe next year I will try to coordinate green.
I love this face!
He has been sneezing a lot lately!  I guess he is just getting use to living in Oklahoma.  Look at his chunky belly!
He has started to grab ahold of his toys and play with them.  He also grabs ahold of my hair or necklace when he is going to sleep.  He still loves to lay on his jungle mat and play.
He is 12 weeks today! No not 3 months, that is next week. I am savoring all the time I can!  I have to go back to work in 10 days and I am not looking forward to it.  I am not going to talk about it or i will tear up!

First of all...

I'm not moving back there. Come here, it's big enough.

I love Cooper's face with his boy cousins (on both sides). He is going to be trouble with all these big boys!

I like him swaddled. That's so cute. I never had a swaddled baby. Old Navy has BIG receiving blankets and I think those SwaddleMe blankets come in different sizes.

Oh and LOL at your reaction to "advice". EXACTLY. No one else has to live w/ your baby but you.

I like his little stripey outfit, too. Stripes are so cute on babies.

If/When Cale drags our tubs of "old" baby clothes out of the attic, I'll paw through them and see if there is anything Cooper can wear that matches the seasons. AJ's 6-9 month stuff is all winter stuff though.

And this long comment better post...

Vanessa, Cooper is SO precious! I'm so glad that the sleeping is going well for you guys now! :) He is a cutie all swaddled up! My boys still like me to wrap them "like burritos" from time to time...you can do that as he gets older & put him in bed. Ha!

Swaddling rocks!! We didn't swaddle Cason because we were idiots. Kendall was swaddled from hour one. She loved it! For her, it worked great for getting her calmed down. I stopped swaddling her regularly at about four months, I think. But after that, for a long time, I would swaddle her to get her calm.

I'm so proud of you for ignoring that stupid advice...good girl.
