BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!
We found out today we are having a boy! We are SO excited! Clay is beaming!!! The ultrasound was so neat. We were able to see legs, arms, hands, and 5 little fingers!! The technician was laughing about how much he was moving around. Clay was amazed. I kept telling Clay how much he moves but it is different for him to see it since he can't feel it yet. Hopefully he will be able to feel it soon. The coolest part was to see the brain with the line down the middle. You could see the two hemispheres! It was amazing. We also have a profile picture that looks like a skeleton. I will try to get the ultrasound pictures scanned soon so we can post them.
Reality really sank in today. Neither one of us cried at the ultrasound, we were so excited! I have to admit I was shocked, I really thought it was a girl for some reason. Now don't get me wrong, I want one boy and one girl so I didn't care at all what this one was. I just figured for some reason it would be a girl. There are baby boys on both sides of my family so he will have playmates. A boy sure will save me some money. :) More than anything I am shocked to know that there really is a person inside of me. I can actually start thinking about names (I have been asked all day if I had a name for him and no we don't), nursery, and so many other things. It makes this pregnancy even more of a reality.
God truly is amazing. Being pregnant is such a spiritual experience. I don't know how anyone can say that abortion is okay as long as it is before a certain point. And no one can tell me that the way the baby is made and forms is just happen stance. God truly is an amazing God and he knows exactly what he is doing. I keep thinking about Psalm 139:19 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." God is forming my child inside of me. That is so amazing, and something I never could really understand until I was pregnant.
Well Clay and I are off to buy something boy. I'm sure I will post about what we buy! Yeah for blue!!

Congratulations on finding out you'll have a boy. We have one of each. Boys & moms have special relationships! God bless ya!
Sharbee (Gavan's aunt)
Yay for boys! You will LOVE having a little boy. I know I do!
Vanessa, your words really resonated with me. I remember when I was pregnant with Cason, when we had our ultrasound, and I saw him in there moving and alive and I thought,"How could anyone say this is not alive? How could anyone have an abortion?" It is an amazing experience.
Yay - I LOVE boys! (not to mention my guess was right) And I know you and Clay will too. Like the first person said, they do have a very special relationship with their mommies but at the same time they love hangin' with their daddies as well! I am so excited for you both. Congrats!
I am SO excited for you! I'll admit, I had voted "girl". I don't know why, but I just thought pink was coming your way. Maybe this way AJ will be able to pass down clothes??
Boys are definately FUN!
The ultrasound IS amazing--something you can't understand until you've experienced it.
Now we can refer to your belly as "him" instead of "it". : )
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
AJ is happy to have someone to help him torment all the girls! He can't do it alone, it's a two-man job!
I love the little boys...but I'm way biased.
Totally...totally get you on the "whoa" moments. Isn't it amazing what a tiny baby teaches us? Puts a lot of this world into perspective, and the child isn't even "here" yet :)
GO REGISTER FOR STUFF ALREADY!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I was thinking about you all day today!!! Now I have someone to pass along Chase's stuff to when he outgrows it and we can't store it in this apartment!!!! :) I'm sooooo thrilled for you guys!!!
How exciting!! A BoY!!
I remember those exciting days. Just think about how exciting today was for you and multiply that by a kajillion. That'll be the day you get to meet your baby boy. It's amazing how your heart can grow and keep growing full of love for your own liitle ones.
I'm very happy for you guys.
I had to ask your mom earlier today when I saw her at Sooners. She seemed pretty exctied!!!!
Yeah for Clay! I think I voted boy! I am so excited for you guys! What an exciting time. Relish the free time because your time will be filled with all the joy you can imagine!
A boy is going to be so much fun too! I'm so happy for you guys. YAY! By the way, I met your cousin Tuesday night at the medical school! His girlfriend joined SAA, and she came to our meeting that night. They are both super nice! You'll have to come up sometime!
